Istanbul Kultur University, Department of Psychology started its education life under the chairmanship of Dr. Prof. Tülay Bozkurt and vice chairmanship Dr. Mücella Uluğ. IKU Psychology Department aims to provide the students with the basic knowledge and skills about the basic theories and applications of psychology. Continues to contribute to the education process with the mission of developing a modern human model that knows at least one foreign language, is equipped with scientific thinking and research facilities, can transfer the ability of independent and free thinking to the problem solving process, and has self-control, creative and social responsibility.

It has gained a respectable place among its peers with the sensitivity of its experienced young and productive staff to guide the students and the academic studies and activities carried out at national and international level.

In the Department of Psychology, the Industrial and Organizational Psychology Master's Program was opened as of May 22, 2012, and the Clinical Psychology Master's Program with/without Thesis was opened as of the 2023-2024 Fall Semester.
